Day-to-day Itinerary - 14 Days
Day 01 Shanghai
Arrive in Shanghai, the largest and most cosmopolitan city, as modern as any in the world. You are greeted on arrival and escorted to downtown hotel for 3 nights well located in a prime setting near many popular shops and restaurants. Balance of the day at your leisure.
Day 02 Shanghai (B L D)
Full-day tour presents Shanghai's unique nature, from the river front Bund where foreign traders left a legacy of European- style buildings, to the Yuyuan Gardens with its quintessential. Sightseeing also includes Jade Buddha Temple, the Pudong New Development zone and Shanghai TV Tower (Pearl of the Orient). You may choose to take the elevator to the top for a bird-eye view of the city and its beautiful skyline. (Extra admission required for this). Tonight, enjoy a world famous Shanghai Acrobatic Show following dinner.
Day 03 Shanghai / Suzhou / Shanghai (B, L)
Depart Shanghai for Suzhou by express train (one hour). Upon arrival, meet / transfer by local tour guide for full-day sightseeing: Garden of Master Nets, Grand Canal (with a ride), Silk Factory and Tiger Hill. Return to Shanghai by express train in late afternoon. Upon arrvial, meet / transfer back to your hotel.
Day 04 Shanghai / Guilin (B L)
Transfer to airport and depart Shanghai for Guilin. Upon arrival, local CITS meet / transfer to downtown hotel in Guilin for 2 nights with daily breakfast.
Afternoon tour: Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill and other sights.
Day 05 Guilin / Li River / Guilin (B, L)
Few could fail to be enraptured by the beauty of the Li River, with its delicate karst formations, beautiful rural scenery, and lush green hillsides with bizarre rock formations and caves. Centuries of poets and artists have immortalized the very scenes you'll savor on a full-day air-conditioned cruise along this unique and tranquil waterway. At end of the cruise, take a short tour in Yangshuo before your guide drives you back to Guilin and back to your hotel.
Day 06 Guilin / Chengdu (B L D)
Transfer to airport and depart Guilin for Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province with 11 million people grown into a modern cosmopolitan metropolis over the last decade but yet manages to keep its 3,000-year-old traditions and low-key lifestyle. Upon arrival, meet / transfer by local tour guide to downtown hotel for 3 nights with daily breakfast. City tour in the afternoon if time permits: Wu Hou Shrine which was originally built in 223 AD and Jin Li ancient Street with its late Qing Dynasty style.
Day 07 Chengdu (B, L)
Full-day sightseeing today includes the most famous site in the Chengdu, the Giant Panda Breeding Center to the north (1-hour drive), where there are over 60 giant pandas. Then proceed to visit one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in Chengdu, the JinShu Site Museum, a sprawling 752-acre complex with the Modi River running through the middle. Tonight, enjoy the well-known Sichuan Opera at a traditional Tea-house styled theatre. A day filled with excitement and joy!

Day 08 Chengdu / Leshan / Chengdu (B, L, D)
Depart Chengdu to Leshan by coach on a full-day excursion. The highlight of today's tour is the 233-feet tall Giant Buddha, standing on the confluence of three rivers. The work on this Giant Buddha began in the year 713 AD and took 90 years to complete. A boat ride is also included today for the best vista point of this site. Return to Chengdu later today with your guide.
Day 09 Chengdu / Xian (B, L)
Transfer to airport and depart Chengdu by flight for Xi'an, a vital center of history, culture and archaeology. Upon arrival, meet / transfer by your local guide to well-located hotel for 2 nights with daily breakfast.
Afternoon tour in Xian: Bell Tower / City Wall and Muslim quarters and Great Mosque.
Day 10 XIAN (B, L, D)
It is impossible to overstate Xi'an's importance in China's history. Here began the fabled Silk Road, here a string of dynasties made their capital, here a Neolithic culture built a village 6000 years ago, and here lies a highlight of your trip: the excavation site of 8000 terra cotta soldiers, buried around the tomb of Emperor Qin, builder of the Great Wall and other massive endeavors.Sightseeing also includes the Wild Goose Pagoda, the landmark of Xian, plus the Shaanxi Provincial Museum.
Tonight, enjoy a special Tang Dynasty dinner show featuring the long history of Xian.
Day 11 Xi'an / Beijing (B, L)
Transfer to Xian Airport for your flight to Beijing, the capital and cultural center of China, where virtually every boulevard and building exudes an air of importance. Upon arrival in Beijing, meet / transfer by your local guide to the downtown hotel for 3 nights with daily breakfast. Balance of the day at your leisure.
Day 12 Beijing (B L)
Enjoy a full-day tour of the sights that make Beijing a spectacular destination: the sprawling Forbidden City, home to 24 Ming and Qing emperors and now a repository of precious art and antiques; the Temple of Heaven, famous for its elegance and symmetry; and the Summer Palace, an oasis of tea gardens, pavilions, painted corridors, and shimmering Kunming Lake with Empress Dowager's eccentric marble ship.
Day 13 Beijing (B L D)
One of the world's most awe-inspiring sights, the Great Wall snakes along nearly 4000 miles of impossibly steep hills and harsh, rugged plains. Today's excursion will give you ample time to explore it in leisure and marvel at the manpower that went into building the world's longest structure entirely by hand. Continue to the Ming Tombs, the graveyard of 13 emperors, before returning to Beijing for an imperial-style Peking Duck dinner. Time permitting, you will also tour the 2008 Beijing Olympics venues (Bird Nest and Water Cube).
Day 14 Beijing (B)
Check out and transfer to Beijing Airport. Depart Beijing for home and bid China a fond farewell. End of your China experience.
